Homerton Hospital, Hackney
July 7, 2009
| Contract | Homerton Hospital, Hackney |
| Client | Homerton University Hospital NHS Trust |
| Main Contractor | Killby & Gayford Ltd |
Description:
This contract involved the construction of a new operating wing within a site area that was surrounded by existing buildings, all of which would be fully operational throughout the duration of the works. With security at a premium, all site personnel had to enter the site via a temporary access point. With such a high volume of passengers Admiral proposed the use of the Haki staircase tower. (For more details of this type of scaffold please refer to our specialist page.)
This would be erected in the main compound and would have a walkway platform spanning the adjacent roof. Once into the site area the scaffold erection involved the use of a Haki temporary roof to ensure that the site suffered no water ingress.
