Contract Chelsea Football Club
Client Chelsea Football Club
Main Contractor Cosmur Construction Ltd

Description:

This was a project that had to be completed within the very short footballing “close season”. It took 6 teams of scaffolders to erect independent towers around the existing West Stand to enable a beamed structure to be linked to produce a high level working platform. This was made more tresting due to the curved nature of the building. The centre section was covered in a Haki System temporary roof as a new banqueting suite was built on the 5th floor.

Contract Home Office
Client Bouygues UK Ltd
Main Contractor

Description:

When the old “Home Office” was developed the Admiral Scaffolding Group convinced the client that cost savings could be made by incorporating a “rolling” Haki system temporary roof. By constructing the temporary structure on castors and a beam section the expensive roof was able to be rolled into different positions rather than incurring the extra cost of re-erecting it.

Descriptions:

This project involved the taxing task of designing a temporary roof with a maximum span of over 20m at an exposed height of 30+m. This was designed to suit the Haki temporary roofing system. It was completed in January 2009, just in time to receive and withstand the massive loadings imposed by the freakish snowfall of February – the worst in 100 years!

Contract University of Westminster
Client Cosmur Construction (London) Ltd
Main Contractor University of Westminster

Description:

This project entailed hoisting around 40 tonnes of scaffolding plant over a busy Regent St up onto the university roof. This meant that combined with a very stringent programme the health and safety requirements were extremely high. Good liaison with the client enabled a strike and shift programme to be drawn up which allowed for the works to be completed within the allotted timescale. This plant then had to be lowered down the rear of the building to allow a scaffold that had been specifically designed to keep loadings off of the low level roofs to be built. There were some very historic roof lights that had to be protected at all costs – thankfully our considerate operatives performed admirably allowing a potentially troublesome project being completed successfully and on time for all parties.

Erecting a standard scaffold with progress of works for a concrete frame and then adapting it to suit all of the following trades was the task that confronted the Group. In discussion with the client all needs were addressed and a correct specification for the project developed. This process enabled the project to be costed effectively to the mutual benefit of both the client and the Group.
